CP’s Thrifty Finds
Usually we do our thrift store shops on Saturday Mornings, but with an exception to our week, we went yesterday. We shop at our local Salvation Army almost every weekend. It is a tradition that started 8 months ago, before we moved in. We were moving in on a budget, and the thrift store was a great place to get necessary items for a great price.
Seeing as the coupon world has been somewhat slow, I thought I would highlight some of the great finds we have found over the past few months of Thrifting:
(Excuse my poor picture-taking skills)
So this was one of the first things we purchased. We have weird spaces in our corners that needed to be filled. What better than this! It looked pretty much brand new when we got it, and we paid $ 12.00!
This was the next purchase. I love bookends, I think they are all adorable. So this fit perfect on our Ikea book shelf. Added bonus that my roomies name is Brandon

I got a pair of these for $4 each! I couldn’t believe it, they just needed to be cleaned up a little, and they were good to go.
This is my absolute Favourite piece in our whole thrift store shopping collection. It’s an older version of the Starbucks coffee tins! These were huge way back when, and are starting to turn in to a collectible. This is something that will always be a staple in my kitchen, and I bought it for an easy $ 3!
We have found a lot of things from the thrift store, that have really brought our house together. I think that thrift stores can be undervalued, because some don’t like second-hand shopping. Those people are missing out for sure. When it comes to household items and decorations I would say half of ours is second-hand. But if I didn’t tell you, you wouldn’t know any better
So if you haven’t already, go to your local Salvation army, Good will, or mom and pop thrift store. You might find exactly what you’re looking for.
What have you found at your local thrift store? Do you tend to donate when the opportunity arises?

Let’s talk about Pinterest:
Alright my fellow blog readers. Show of hands…how many of you have Pintrerest…? Now if any of you didn’t raise your hand, your in serious trouble. Any Blogger, DIY-Master, Stay @ Home Mom, or Busy Business person will benefit from this website. Pinterest is a picture haven for one and all, and I can almost guarantee when you get started you will love it.
Once you have an account at Pinterest, your ready to go. Think of it this way: In real time you would be cutting out the pictures (from good housekeeping or Cosmo) that you love and posting them on a corkboard in your room or house. Pinterest puts a new spin on an old idea. Instead of cork boards you have on-line pin boards. You basically go through endless amounts of pictures, that others have posted, and re-pin them to your on-line pin board to make a permanent collection. You can browse friends boards, you can search for a particular idea or picture, and you can organize your pins as neat or as messy as you like.
As you are the pinner you have complete control over what you want your boards to look like, or the theme you would like to set. There is no limit on how many boards or pictures you pin. Welcome to the land of creative freedom.
I use my boards for things like:
Wedding ideas: When that time comes, i’ll be armed and loaded.
Crafts: Projects out of everyday things, that I would never think of.
House ideas: When I build my dream house, Pinterest will be the basis of most rooms.
Food: This is a huge database, I have used countless recipes, from pictures others have posted.
The list could go on forever, but you get my drift. So, moral of the story, go to Pinterest, sign up right now, and add CP to your favourites!
Need help? Have a question? Leave us a comment and we would be more then happy to help!
Happy Pinning!
